Before starting make sure that you have been given your details, these may consist of;

  • Username
  • Password
  • Public IP Address or URL
  • VPN Type
  • Shared Private Key
  • Software for VPN (if Required)

Not all of these are provided, depending on the Router that you are connecting to and the protocol used.

Using Native Windows VPN Connection - Windows 10 Only

  1. Left Click on your Windows Icon (bottom Left)
  2. Left Click on Settings
  3. Left Click on Network & Internet
  4. Left Click on VPN
  5. Left Click on Add a VPN

Once the Add a VPN Connection windows has opened
  1. Left Click on the VPN Provider and choose Windows (built-in)
  2. Enter any Name in the  Connection name box
  3. In server name or address, enter either the Public IP Address or URL provided
  4. If you have been told a VPN type, click on the drop down and choose the correct type, if unsure us Automatic (see picture below)
  5. Enter your username and password (both are case sensitive) that you have been provided
  6. Left Click on Save

To Connect your VPN

Once you have Left Clicked on Save, you will see your VPN that you have just created.

You can single Left Click on it to expand (like picture below) and then Left Click on Connect.

To Disconnect your VPN

Do the following steps.
  1. Left Click on your Windows Icon (bottom Left)
  2. Left Click on Settings
  3. Left Click on Network & Internet
  4. Left Click on VPN
  5. Left Click on your VPN
  6. Left Click on Disconnect
